easys v2.1

First look

After installation and computer rebooting and we are presented with a login window.

You may choose to login as root, with a password you set during setup, or you may use user name easys and password easys to enter a computer Graphical User Interface (GUI). Not wanting to be asked for password every time I wanted to setup something I used root. It is not recommended for beginners but I'll pretend like I know what I'm doing.

I got GUI running automatically without my interventions, during setup or after, with proper resolution. My touch pad is recognised (I can tap on it for one or two clicks) and pointer movements and speed are accurate.

Easys 2.1 uses light KDE for GUI. On my computer it loads fast, it is clear, simple, not too many icons and to me it looks great.

K main menu is not overcrowded with 5 programs for one task (it is one for one actually). This is what some of the menus look like:

If you want to change some settings easys 2.1 uses KDE Control Center. (K --> Preferences --> KDE Control Center). There is no special utility to change settings which is easily accessible through main menu.
